Monday morning saw a pair of National Collegiate Development Conference games to close out the immensely successful 2019 Fall Beantown Classic showcase in Massachusetts. The majority of games from Thursday through Sunday, however, featured Midget and Bantam Divisions from 18U down to 14U.

Many USPHL Midget teams fared very well in their three-game stands at the showcase, including those teams listed below.

CP Dynamo 18U (2-0-1)

The team from Clifton Park, N.Y., ranked by MYHockeyrankings at 54th on Oct. 23, blazed right out of the gate with a 5-2 Friday win over the No. 27 Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (who in turn beat the No. 13 Cape Cod Whalers, of the USPHL’s EHF Selects Division).

CP then tied the EHF Selects’ GBL Jr. Bruins (No. 28) by a 3-3 score, and finished with a 4-1 win over No. 42 Boston Jr. Bulldogs. Watch for a big move northward in CP Dynamo’s ranking this week.

CP Dynamo 16U (3-0)

Not to be outdone by their older brethren in Orange and White, the 16U CP squad also went 3-0 against USPHL Affiliates Somang Hockey, Islanders Hockey Club North and the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders.

Rockets Hockey Club 16U (3-1)

The New Jersey Rockets (ranked No. 13 nationally) will see their rankings get a bump up after wins over the No. 6 Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (4-2) and No. 8 Honeybaked (4-1), along with the No. 16 Chicago Mission (3-1). Their only blemish was a 5-1 loss to No. 9 Compuware.

Jersey Hitmen 18U (3-0-1)

The Hitmen (ranked 36th in Tier 1 AAA) picked up impressive wins against No. 46 Compuware, Hill Academy (both 5-1) and Bishop’s College (3-1). The highlight, however, came on Saturday, when they fought back from a 2-0 deficit against No. 9 Chicago Mission to post a 2-2 tie.

Junior Bruins 16U (3-0-1)

The host team - ranked 47th - posted strong performances throughout the Fall Beantown Classic, including wins over the No. 59 Chicago Young Americans (6-3), Bishop’s Prep (2-1) and West Van Academy (2-0). They tied the No. 9 Compuware team by a 3-3 score, more proof that USPHL Midget teams can skate with any team in the country.

Islanders HC 18U National (2-0-1)

The Islanders enjoyed wins over Ontario Hockey Academy (2-1) and the Exton Bulls (6-3), and tied 5-5 with the higher-ranked Chicago Young Americans

New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs 18U (2-0-1)

The Monarchs took wins over No. 37 Northwood School (6-3 in league play) and the Exton Bulls (4-1), while tying St. Michael’s, of Ontario, 3-3.

New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs 16U (2-1)

The Monarchs went up, down and up again on the seesaw, first defeating Canada’s CSJV Dragons, 3-0, then falling to the Chicago Young Americans (5-0) before rebounding to close the weekend with a 7-1 win over Ulysse Academy.

Rockets Hockey Club 18U (3-1)

The Rockets 18U squad faced an all-Canadian schedule, going up against Somang Hockey (7-2 W), Westlake College (4-3 W) and Hill Academy (5-0 W). They took their only loss to the Rothesay Netherwood School (2-1), in their opener.

Junior Bruins 18U (2-1-1)

After starting out with a loss and a tie, the No. 58 Junior Bruins rebounded with wins against the New Jersey Colonials and Ontario Hockey Academy. The losses came to the No. 44 Philly Little Flyers and the tie was against the Chicago Young Americans.

Palmyra 15U (2-1-1)

The Black Knights fared the best of the few USPHL 15U teams that played at the Beantown. They beat the Canada-based John Rennie High School, 4-2, and the EHF Selects member Boston Jr. Eagles, who were ranked nine spots higher than them nationally, by a 2-0 score.

Their 3-1 loss came to another EHF Selects squad, the Providence Hockey Club, and they tied Seacoast Academy, 2-2.

Springfield 16U (2-0)

The Pics had limited action at the Fall Beantown, but nevertheless batted 1.000, coming out with wins against Ulysse Academy of Canada (3-1) and, in a USPHL league game, 5-0 against the Florida Jr. Blades.

Jersey Shore Whalers 16U (2-1)

The Whalers earned shutout wins against fellow USPHL team the South Shore Kings (1-0) and the EHF Selects’  Providence Hockey Club (3-1), but took a loss in league play to the Boston Bandits (4-0).

South Shore Kings 18U (2-1)

The Kings enjoyed wins over the Okanagan Hockey Academy of Ontario (3-2) and the Junior Bruins 19U Gold team (3-1), on either side of a loss to Ulysse Academy (3-2).

Utica Jr. Comets 16U (2-1)

The Comets made the most of their trek down Interstate 90. They rebounded after an early 5-2 loss to Ulysse Academy to defeat the Philly Little Flyers (2-0) and the West Haven Blue Devils (5-1).

Connecticut Jr. Rangers 18U (2-1)

The Rangers played an entirely USPHL league game schedule, defeating fellow USPHL members the Northern Cyclones Academy Elite (3-1) and Northwood Prep (4-3), on either side of a 4-2 loss to the Twin City Lightning.

Northwood School (2-2)

Longtime USPHL 18U Affiliate member the No. 37-ranked Northwood School, of Lake Placid, N.Y., defeated the No. 18 Skipjacks Hockey Club 1-0 in league play. They also beat the Junior Bruins Black team 6-2. In between, though, were defeats to the lower-ranked New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs (6-3) and Honeybaked (2-1).

Skipjacks Hockey Club 18U (2-2)

As aforementioned, the No. 18 Skipjacks started with a loss to the Northwood School, and then fell into an 0-2 hole with a 3-1 loss to the No. 9 Chicago Mission. They salvaged a .500 trip with closing wins against the No. 23 Boston Advantage (2-1) and Mount Academy Saints (5-2).

South Shore Kings 16U (1-1-1)

The Kings saw a little bit of everything, starting with a 2-2 tie against Ulysse Academy, followed by a 1-0 loss to fellow league members the Jersey Shore Whalers and a 4-3 league win over the Florida Jr. Blades.
