USPHL Midgets Prime Movers

The USPHL Midget teams saw some big moves upwards after the Fall Beantown Classic.

18U

38. CP Dynamo (12-4-1-0 overall, 1-2-0-0 USPHL)

Clifton Park, N.Y.’s favorite 18U team moved up the Tier-1 18U charts more than any other team, advancing 17 spaces to reach the top 40. Wins over the higher-ranked Oakland Jr. Grizzlies and the lower-ranked Boston Jr. Bulldogs accompanied a tie against the GBL Jr. Bruins for a 2-0-1 run at the Beantown.

31. Jersey Hitmen (14-10-2-0 overall, 6-3-0-0 USPHL)

The Hitmen moved up six spots, with a 2-2 come-from-behind tie with No. 9 Chicago Mission a big help to the boost. They also had wins against the lower-ranked Compuware team from Detroit, and two Canadian prep teams, Hill Academy and Bishops College.

32. Northwood School (8-3-0-0 overall, 3-2-0-0 USPHL)

Also moving up six spots from last week was the Lake Placid, N.Y.-based Northwood School, a USPHL Affiliate. They had wins against the Skipjacks Hockey Club and Junior Bruins Black 19U, while taking losses to the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs and Honeybaked.

New Jersey Rockets - A 3-1 run against all Canadian prep schools helped push the Rockets up eight spots.

New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs- The Monarchs’ upset win over the Northwood School helped push them up by nine spots.

16U

Utica Jr. Comets- A win against the No. 14-ranked team in the Tier-2 national rankings help lift the Comets up six spots in Tier-1. They also had a win at the Fall Beantown against the Philadelphia Little Flyers, after falling to Ulysse Prep.

Tier-2 Junior

The Jersey Hitmen remained No. 5 overall and the Boston Junior Bruins climbed one spot to ninth. The biggest movers out of all Tier-2 teams in the country were the Boston Bandits, who climbed five spots certainly thanks to their 15-round shootout win over the Jersey Hitmen on Sunday. They climbed to No. 17 overall.

Tier-3 Junior

The Charlotte Rush moved five spots up to climb into the Top 10, joining (and leapfrogging) the No. 10 Metro Jets. The Rush now stand at No. 7 thanks to their 11-3-0-0 record.

The Rum River Mallards climbed 14 spots to join the top 40 out of the 135 Tier-3 junior teams ranked.
