Forward Of The Month: Connor O’Brien, Springfield Pics
O’Brien (‘02/Wilbraham, Mass.) played in only one September game, so he’s done all of his damage - that is, 13 points in 10 games - in OCtober.
He has helped the Pics to one of the Elite Division’s best winning percentages (.850) off an 8-1-1-0. The Pics also have one of the better goal differentials (+21), so keep watching for this team as we get into the real heart of the season.
Honorable Mention
John DeFilippo, Northern Cyclones
Liam Heffernan, Jersey Hitmen
Defenseman Of The Month: Hunter Meyer, Northern Cyclones
The Cyclones have walked nearly in lockstep with the Pics from the start - they are one point apart from each other and both have played just 10 games through the end of Halloween.
Meyer, an ‘01, has made the long trek from Anchorage, Alaska, to Hudson, N.H., and he is already making the most of it. While helping the Cyclones to a 9-1-0-0 record and a 1.72 goals against average, Meyer scored 10 points in his eight October contests.
With 13 points in 10 games overall, Meyer is tied for the team lead in scoring.

Goaltender Of The Month: Dylan Sheets, Northern Cyclones
Sheets, a 2000-born Colorado native, is another great talent who is a leader for the successful team out of Hudson, N.H. He leads the entire Elite Division in save percentage (.959) and his goals against average of 1.33 is second only to South Goaltender Of The Month Nick Bernstein.
During the month of October, Sheets put up a 4-1 record and stopped 124 of 130 shots for a .958 save percentage and a monthly goals against average of 1.19. Three shutouts in a month will give you those kind of low numbers.
With Sheets in net and Meyer leading the defense, the Cyclones have every intention of riding this victorious wave all the way to February.
