Forward: Aiden Grieco, Jersey Hitmen

You could definitely say that Grieco (‘01/Montvale, N.J.) has progressed well under the watchful eye of the Jersey Hitmen. He has scored better than 20 points at the 15U and 16U level with the Hitmen, and was also productive as a younger 18U player last season.

This year, he is again a leader and is once more edging close to that 20-point mark. With 12 points in just six October games, Grieco was a dominant force for the Hitmen. He helped the Wayne, N.J.-based team to 31st overall in the most recent Tier-1 18U AAA MYHockeyrankings.

He has also been consistent, stretching a 13-point streak he started in early September well into October, counting six games.

Honorable Mention

Clark Bolin, Skipjacks Hockey Club

Dominic Chasse, Twin City Lightning

Defense: Dominic Chirico, Skipjacks Hockey Club

When your team has given up just eight goals through 10 games, the defensive spotlight is going to turn your way. When an individual on said team’s defensive corps - say, someone who had six points in four league games - that is an even bigger plus, and deserving of a nod as Defenseman Of The Month.

Chirico (‘01/Amherst, N.Y.) is a second-year veteran for the Skipjacks, who were ranked at 21st nationwide in the recent MYHockeyrankings. With his seven total points, he is well beyond his 2018-19 point total and, as the defensive numbers show, his two-game against solid competition week in and week out should be turning many scout’s heads.

Honorable Mention

Ethan Hawes, Cyclones Academy Premier

Austin DiPofi, Palmyra Black Knights

Goaltender: Hunter Thomas, Skipjacks Hockey Club

What we were saying about the Skipjacks’ amazing team defense certainly extends to the crease. How can it not when someone like Thomas earned four shutouts in a row to start the season.

That run ended in his second OCtober game in a 7-4 win over the Cyclones Academy, and he then kept the Northwood School off the board through 60 minutes before yielding an overtime goal. He remains undefeated in regulation for the season, and has helped the Skipjacks retain a high ranking and a continually elevating reputation in this age group.

Honorable Mention

John Werber, Jersey Hitmen

Noah Brandou, Philadelphia Hockey Club
