The PAL Junior Islanders would like to congratulate new signing Cameron Klein on his recent commitment to the University of Vermont!

Klein, of Alpine, New Jersey, joins the Junior Islanders after a big season with Avon Old Farms Prep in Connecticut. The 6'3, 210 pound forward was drafted in the 12th round by the Chicago Steel in 2014's USHL Entry Draft. He'll join the PAL Junior Islanders USPHL Premier team.

With his size and skill, Klein has become one of the top power forwards in the Northeast and was a highly sought after NCAA prospect before making the decision to join the University of Vermont Catamounts.

"I really loved the atmosphere at UVM, both the campus and the city of Burlington," Klein said. "The town pretty much eats, sleeps and breathes UVM hockey which is definitely something that drove me there. I also love the coaching staff and look forward to playing for them."

General Manager Ron Kinnear is excited to have Klein on board for the upcoming season. "Cam's the type of player who can really dominate a game. He can control the pace of the game with his size and skill, and we think he's going to be a big part of our success this season."

On what he's looking to accomplish with the PAL Junior Islanders, Klein noted the emphasis on skating and offensive skill that the organization prides itself on. "I'm hoping to develop into more of an offensive player and put up more points, and also develop my skating and become the strongest skater I can before playing Hockey East."

The University of Vermont Catamounts compete in NCAA Division I Hockey East, the conference in which both participants in this year's National Championship (Providence College, Boston University) play. This past season, the Catamounts finished 22-15-4 and lost in the Semifinal round of the Hockey East Playoffs. Klein will join the Catamounts for the 2016-17 season.
