South Shore Kings Season Check Point

Premier
 
The Premier team has continued their strong play this season posting an 8-2-2 (3rdPlace) record through the first 12 games this season. A large part of their success has come from the play of their defense and goaltending. The Kings have only allowed 28 goals against (3rd in USPHL) and boast a league-high 95.9 PK% (1st in USPHL).  Goaltender Tedy Loughborough (Wellesley, MA) leads the league in Wins (8) and Minutes Played (606:17). Patrick Flynn (Framingham, MA) and Christian Simeone (Milton, MA) lead the team offensively with 11 points each.
 

 
Last week, the Kings played a two-game series with the Springfield Jr. Pics. They swept the series outscoring the Pics 14-5. After strong performances, Michael Booth (Cary, IL) and Jake Cass (Chatham, MA) earned USPHL Player of the Week honors. Booth registered 5 assists in the two games en route to his first Offensive POTW of the season and Cass recorded 4 assists leading to his first Defensive POTW of the season. U18 forward, Mitchell Walinski (Lincoln, RI) was called up for Sunday’s game vs. the Pics. Walinski was 2nd in USPHL U18 scoring at the time of his call up and didn’t take long to score his first USPHL Premier goal as he scored the 4th goal in a 7-2 win.
 
The Kings will take on the Okanagan European Eagles for the first time this season in the two-game series before heading to the Beantown Fall Classic next weekend. Game times against the Eagles are Sunday, 10/25 at 1pm and Wednesday, 10/28 at 1pm. Both games will be at the Foxboro Sports Center.
 
Elite
 
The Elite team has an 8-1-1 record through 10 games this season, good for 1st Place in the North Division. The Kings have 2 of the top 3 scoring leaders in the league inJasper Korican-Barlay (Oakland, CA) and Jack Sheehan (Norwood, MA). Korican-Barlay is 2nd in the USPHL with 23 points in 10 games and Sheehan is tied for 3rd in the USPHL with 22 points in 10 games. Sheehan’s 12 goals are good for 2nd in the league.
 
The Kings have strung together a pair of 4-game win streaks and have a very important weekend ahead of them with a 2-game series vs. the 2nd place Islanders Hockey Club. Games times this weekend are Friday, 10/23 at 8:20pm and Sunday, 10/25 at 6:30pm. Both games will be played at Skate 3 Arena.
 
U18
 
The U18 team currently sits in 4th Place with a 4-2-1 record through the first 7 games of the season.  Mitchell Walinski (Lincoln, RI) leads the team in scoring and has been called up to the Premier team for his strong play. The second leading scorer on the team is Sergey Bezrukov (Newton, MA) has who a 3-9-12 scoring line through 7 games. The Kings will host the Syracuse Stars this weekend for two games, Saturday 10/24 at 5:40pm and Sunday 10/25 at 3:20pm.  The Stars are in 6th Place with a 1-4-0 record.
 
U16
 
The U16 team has struggled out of the gates losing their first 7 games of the USPHL season.  They have had close games against Islanders Hockey Club (4-2 L) and two close games with the Providence Capitals (5-3 L and 4-1 L). Their leading scorer through the first 7 games is Alex Wisnes (Hanover, MA).  Nathan Pickett (Auburn, MA) has seen most of the time between the pipes this season and is 2nd in the USPHL in SOGs with 159.
 
The Kings look to break their winless streak this weekend when they host the Syracuse Stars. Game times for the weekend are Saturday, 10/24 3:30pm and Sunday, 10/25 at 1:10pm.  The Stars are in 2nd Place in the North Division with a 6-0-0 record.
