Florida Eels announce its 21st College commitment. Congratulations to Brian Dennerlein 3 year veteran of the Florida Eels. Brian committed to the University of Oklahoma for Winter 2016-17. . Brian is 5’10” 180 pounds out of Parkridge IL. He joined the Eels 3 seasons ago and played on the Empire team. There he was one of the leading scorers in the league. For the last two seasons Brian played on the Eels Elite team. Brian had spent a short time with the BCHL for the past two seasons garnering great experience at the Tier II level.

GM Scarpaci says the scouting report on DENNERLEIN IS A FAST, SMOOTH AND FLUID SKATER THAT MAKES THE MOST OF EVERY STRIDE WHETHER IT IS ON THE FORECHECK OR THE BACKCHECK. HE PLAYS WITH A CHIP ON HIS SHOULDER THAT ALLOWS HIM TO BE PHYSICAL AND CREATE TURNOVERS ALL OVER THE ICE. BRIAN HAS A HARD AND ACCURATE SHOT THAT IS DIFFICULT TO READ BECAUSE OF HIS QUICK RELEASE. HIS HOCKEY SENSE SHOWS ALL OVER THE ICE, AS HE IS A GREAT PUCK SUPPORTER AND KNOWS HOW TO BREAK THE PUCK OUT OF HIS OWN END.

Brian is a great kid. An extremely hard working young man with a burning passion to excel. He is a great team player. Very strong character and comes from a very supportive family. Brian had several college options and took his time to make his decision where to finally go to college. He elected the University of Oklahoma as it combines an outstanding academic program where the value of its diploma speaks volumes. Moreover it also has an excellent ACHA Div. 1 program that provides its players with so many of the benefits of a NCAA Div. 1 men’s hockey program.

Brian will make us proud. He will do so well at Oklahoma. He will be joining fellow Eels teammate Jeff O’Dea who is planning on attending Oklahoma this fall. He also will be joining Eels alumni Hunter Fernandez who backboned the Eels 3 seasons ago.
