Wayne, NJ - The Jersey Hitmen are proud to announce that Tucker DeYoung has committed to the United States Military Academy (Army) for the fall of 2017. A native of Lake Bluff, IL, and graduate of Culver Military Academy, DeYoung is extremely proud to call West Point his home in the fall.

DeYoung is the leading scorer for the Hitmen posting an 8-14-22 scoring line in 17 USPHL league games and currently sits fourth in the USPHL league scoring. A strong, gritty forward, DeYoung's work ethic, hockey IQ and offensive abilities landed him numerous division one campus visits and a handful of offers, but in the end, West Point is where he wanted to continue his hockey career.

"I am so happy for Tucker," commented coach Harris. "In recruiting him over the summer, we spoke about the many facets of the Hitmen program and the USPHL. In fact, Tucker traveled out to the USPHL Spring Classic in May and really got along well with our veterans and took to our system. He also loved the amount of scouts at the showcase as well as the past commitment list of our organization. It was a perfect match for both parties."

Harris went on to talk about what DeYoung will bring to Army hockey. "Coach Riley and the West Point staff are getting a top notch, character kid, with talent. Tucker has an engine that wont stop, and that is a testament to all the time and effort that he puts in off the ice, but his talents don't end there. Tucker shoots the puck very well and is not afraid to go to the net and stick his nose into the dirty areas. With the direction that Coach Riley has taken the Army program, Tucker is a perfect fit. He will undoubtedly be a crowd favorite!"

DeYoung becomes the 10th division one commitment off of this years Hitmen roster.
