North Andover, MA (January 16, 2017)- Brenden Eng Tow scored twenty-nine seconds into overtime to lead the Southern Division to a 3-2 victory in the 2017 USPHL 18-and-under Young Guns Game.

Jackson Sterrett drew first blood for the South when he lit the lamp with 15:32 remaining in the first half.

Matt Gould tied the game with assists from Josh Vertentes and Ryan Lovett with 10:55 on the clock.

Thanks to the stellar goaltending of Ismael Ralsten and Anthony Porino, the game remained tied 1-1 at the intermission.

A power play goal by Vertentes from Lovett and Gould put the North on top with 10:47 remaining in regulation.

The lead held until Philip Elgstam scored from Sterrett and Bobby Freiling with 5:40 to go.

Neither team could solve goaltenders Anthony DelTufo and Ben Fleischman before the final buzzer, so it was on to overtime.

Eng Tow gave the South the victory with an assist from Cade Groton twenty-nine seconds into the extra session.

The United States Premier Hockey League would like to congratulate all players selected for the 2017 Young Guns Games and wish special thanks to the Islanders Hockey Club for hosting the event.
