In 2019, the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) will be welcoming in a set of new members, the Charleston Colonials (Elite and Premier).

The Charlotte Rush (USPHL) Ownership Group has been approved for another USPHL franchise for the 2019-20 season. The Charleston Colonials will play out of the Carolina Ice Palace,  with brand new state of the art locker-rooms and offices.

The Charlotte Rush Ownership Group will implement the same culture, core values and successful structure as it used while building the Charlotte Rush just three seasons ago.

A vision of growing junior hockey in the fast-growing community of hockey in the South and the demand to give players the opportunity to play junior hockey in a great market attracted them to the Ice Palace in Charleston, S.C.

"We are extremely excited to bring our culture and dedication to player advancement to Charleston.  With the support of the Carolina Ice Palace we believe we can build a strong organization that mirrors what we have done in Charlotte."

With the high demand for junior hockey and development  in the Charleston area makes this the perfect fit for the teams. The USPHL Southeast Division has ranked in the top for the past several seasons, with over 75 NCAA commitments just last season. The division is proven to be outstanding for player advancement.

"From the start, our group has shown its purpose and passion to run a successful junior hockey program.  We have paved the way in terms of player advancement and creating a winning culture," said Langlois. "We feel a strong local influx of players integrated with highly talented recruited players will create this environment quickly in Charleston."

"We would like to thank the Carolina Ice Palace and the USPHL for their support and trust.  We look forward to our inaugural season in Charleston.  Go Colonials!"
