The New Jersey Hitmen are officially on an 11-game winning streak, after a Wednesday night victory over the New Jersey Rockets to further cement their hold on first place overall in the NCDC.

Recognizing both their accomplishment on its own and the intense parity within the NCDC, MYHockeyrankings ranked the Hitmen as the No. 1 overall Tier-2 junior team in the U.S. Here in Week 12 of the MHR charts, the Hitmen join the Junior Bruins (Week 5) as the only two NCDC eams to hold the Tier-2 junior rankings. The Hitmen are 22-4-0 overall.

Tier-2 Junior

Aside of the top-ranked Hitmen, there are five other NCDC teams in the top 20 of Tier-2 juniors.

The Boston Junior Bruins (19-7-2-0) remained at ninth overall, and the Connecticut Jr. Rangers (15-11-1-1) advanced one spot to 13th.

The Boston Bandits (13-9-1-2) remained at 15th, the New Jersey Rockets (13-9-2-0) moved up by one and the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs (15-10-1-1) moved up by six places into the top 20.

The Cyclones advanced by two spots, and the Islanders Hockey Club, Northern Cyclones and P.A.L. Jr. Islanders each moved up by one.

Tier-3 Junior

There are nine USPHL Premier teams in the top 20 of the 140-team Tier-3 rankings, including the third and fourth teams nationally - the Hampton Roads Whalers (24-1-0-0), who dropped one spot to third despite two wins over the Carolina Eagles, each by three goals.

The New York Aviators (23-3-0-0) dropped one spot to fourth, despite a pair of wins against Hartford and Philadelphia this past weekend.

The Metro Jets (21-2-1-0) rose one spot to sixth, their only win being a lopsided victory over Lansing. The Charlotte Rush (19-5-0-1) rose one spot to eighth, and the Northern Cyclones cracked the top 10 by moving up two spots (18-3-0-1).

The Richmond Generals (16th) and Islanders Hockey Club (18th) each moved up two spots, while the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs (19th) dropped by two spots and the Boston Bandits fell one spot to 20th.

Outside of the top 20, the biggest mover was the Motor City Hockey Club. MCHC (18-7-0-0) moved up 13 spots, thanks in part to a 4-3 win over the Metro Jets Development Program team on Dec. 11.

The Pittsburgh Vengeance and Chicago Cougars saw gains of seven spots apiece. The Rum River Mallards, and the USPHL Elite’s Northern Cyclones and Atlanta Jr. Kings all moved up by six spots.

The highest-ranked USPHL Elite team are the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs, at 62nd overall, no change from last week.

The Minnesota Moose, Decatur Blaze and South Shore Kings Premier teams moved up by four spots apiece, as did the Tampa Bay Juniors Elite. The Springfield Pics and Hartford Jr. Wolpack moved up by three spots apiece.

The USPHL Premier’s Midwest Blackbirds, Florida Eels, Twin City Thunder and Hudson Havoc all climbed two spots, as did the Elite Florida Eels.

Seven USPHL Premier teams climbed on spot -- DME Hockey Academy, Skipjacks Hockey Club, Potomac Patriots, MJDP, Wooster Oilers, Dells Ducks and Rochester Monarchs. Also moving up by one spot were four USPHL Elite teams - Carolina Eagles, Junior Bruins, Florida Jr. Blades and Potomac Patriots.

18U

There was very little movement in the 18U rankings - the Northwood School, a USPHL Affiliate member, is still ranked third, as they were last week.

The highest full-time member of the USPHL 18U league are the Jersey Hitmen, who remain 34th overall after going 3-1 in a non-league tournament in Detroit. The only USPHL 18U team that moved up in the rankings were the Rochester Jr. Monarchs, advancing one spot.

16U

The USPHL 16U teams saw a lot of movement, some playing USPHL league games, others playing outside the league.

The New Jersey Rockets (13-5-1-0 in league play) went 1-1 in non-league play to stand as the highest-ranked USPHL 16U squad, ranked 33rd nationally.

The Skipjacks Hockey Club joined many other USPHL 16U teams at the aforementioned tournament in Detroit, going 2-2 there and moving up by one spot.

The Palmyra Black Knights saw the biggest gain, moving up five spots after a 2-0 weekend against the South Shore Kings.

The Islanders Hockey Club moved up by three spots, as did the Boston Bandits. Many teams moved up by two, including the Affiliate Member Seattle Sno-King, the Northern Cyclones, Pittsburgh Vengeance and the New Jersey Rockets’ Mid-American Division team. Other teams that had gains of one spot apiece included the New York Aviators and Connecticut Jr. Rangers’ Northeast Division team.

The USPHL 15U Division saw the New Jersey Rockets (11-0-0-0 in league play) remain at eighth overall. The Northern Cyclones and Palm Beach Hawks each saw gains of one spot.
