The PAL Jr. Islanders are proud to announce that 16U forward Jack O'Leary has committed to Cornell University for the 2019 season.

"Jack's play this year has been outstanding mainly due to his compete level and elite skating ability. He is one of the fastest players I have seen in all of 16U hockey this season. His skill and speed have been a lethal combination,” said head coach, Bob Thornton. “Cornell has been tracking him since the beginning of the season and Jack will be a nice fit in the ECAC moving forward."

O'Leary, ’00, has played 73 games scoring 27 goals 49 assists for 76 points for the high scoring Islanders this season. O’Leary is noted to be a very strong student, so his choice to go to Cornell was a natural fit over the other schools that had interest in him.

“Exposure, development and to play a high skill and speed style is how the PAL Islanders Midget program is built and we look to see more of the players commit to schools in near future,” added Thornton.

PAL would like to congratulate Jack and the rest of the O’Leary family on this wonderful accomplishment.
